circular slate and lavender
circular slate and lavender garden
This garden is a level, L-shaped garden (20 x 20m) in Ringwood, Dorset. The owners are a retired couple who wanted to grow vegetables and then sit and relax in both sun and shade. The soil is slightly acidic loam which is dry under three mature pine trees but moist on the opposite side of the garden.
Requirements for the new garden design/landscape architecture:
-
A curvilinear garden with a slate patio and a large lawn
-
A pergola for Wisteria to detract from the view of the house behind the garden
-
Planting to include roses and lavender
-
Retain the three pine trees
-
Retain some newly planted trees, such as Magnolia grandiflora, but these can be repositioned to hide the house behind
-
A vegetable area at the side of the house with raised beds

"EFFICIENT AND INSPIRATIONAL: We are delighted with our new garden. Ann considered our requirements and preferences and has designed a beautiful space that meets our needs, incorporates our planting choices whilst suggesting some new delights that suit the situation. The whole process has been efficient and inspirational. Looking forward to the coming seasons to see how it matures." (see reviews on Houzz)
