coastal clay garden

coastal clay garden

This garden is an L-shaped garden on a slope with alkaline, clay soil under 20-30cm of topsoil.  It has a view across the marshes to Weymouth bay, and is south facing.  The clients wanted a low maintenance garden that they could sit in an enjoy the view.

Requirements for the new garden design/landscape architecture:

  • A small patio

  • A small arbour

  • A water feature

  • Yellow and purple planting

  • Screening from the houses across the road to create a private space

  • No steps

This garden was constructed by Gregorys Landscaping of Piddlehinton, and the plants have been sourced from Chichester Trees and Shrubs.

LISTENED TO WHAT WE WANTED:

"We were very happy with our garden designer from the very beginning.

"We felt she really listened to what we wanted and was able to overcome some difficulties we were expecting.

"Our garden was a funny shape and on quite a steep incline - no one was interested on taking on such a challenge until I was introduced to Ann.  She was very enthusiastic, really listened to what we wanted in the garden and had some really good ideas to add.

"The end result was an absolutely stunning garden which is continuing to grow even more beautiful.”
