english flowing summer garden

This garden is approximately 20 x 30m and faces south.  It is flat and the soil is neutral-acidic loam.

The client wanted a low maintenance garden to walk around and relax in, with a summerhouse in the top corner to enjoy the evening sun with a glass of wine.  The patio near the house gets very hot in the summer so the client also wanted a shady patio.

Requirements for the new design/landscape architecture:

  • Summerhouse

  • Shady and sunny patios

  • Paths to circulate around the garden

  • Lawn

  • Retain the existing shed and a few mature trees and shrubs

FANTASTIC DESIGN AND ATTENTION TO DETAIL:

"What a wonderful garden - and best of all, it’s ours!!

"We have a garden that everyone is remarking on and all the credit goes to Ann for her fantastic design and attention to detail. From start to finish Ann has been meticulous in listening to us: exploring what we liked in terms of shape, mood and colour; helping us to think about how we intended to use the garden and how much we wanted to be involved in its maintenance!

"She provided wonderful plans to inspire us and for the installation team to work from. Ordered the plants and checked them for us on delivery then got busy laying them out whilst directing the team and supervising those with little knowledge (me!).

"Already the plants are starting to grow and the garden is changing .... we can’t wait for Spring to really get started so we can see what else comes peeking up through the bark.

"One of our friends has asked if we will be selling tickets for garden viewings in the summer! The answer is no, but we will happily be inviting lots of them around to share a glass of wine, put their feet up, relax and enjoy it with us."
