I have designed a few gardens in Dorset with planting that provided a tropical atmosphere.

In Dorset the climate is mild, so we are able to grow slightly more tender plants than elsewhere in Britain with a little protection, such as Musa basjoo (banana tree).

However, most of the plants that I select are very hardy but still have a tropical look, such as palm trees (Trachycarpus & Cordyline australis), Prunus cerasifera 'Nigra', Euphorbia griffithii, Fritillaria imperialis and Hemerocallis 'Ruby Spider'. I love working with people to achieve their dreams of far away places.
